Kelly Kim M.S. NCSP

Kelly graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2005 with a M.S. in School Psychology.  During her studies, she focused on trauma related care with students and behavioral management.

She worked as a School Psychologist in a large district in western Washington for over a decade in inner-city low income schools.  She then worked in a couple rural districts in Washington.  After wanting a change of pace in life she and her husband moved to Montana and has been working in local school districts.

Through her experiences and continued training, Kelly brings a wealth of experience along with advocating for children & their families, analyzing a child's behavior and helping teachers to implement effective behavior plans, working with teams to build relationships and focus on effective interventions & goals for students, and working with mental health concerns.

Our Services

Kelly is able to work with teams on multiple levels focusing on a child and their success in life in all aspects.  She is able to help parents work through difficult times and understand what is happening in school with their child.  Bringing the skills and benefits of having a School Psychologist on your side will ease stress for parents and give them a person to lean on.

Advocacy

Helping parents navigate their way through the schools.

We can help parents navigate through the school system, special education, & 504 plans.  These can be difficult to understand for most parents. Having a person on their side and advocating for their child can make a positive difference.

Psychoeducational Evaluations

Assessing students for their abilities and possible disabilities.

Psychoeducational evaluations are completed in the schools for students who are being qualified for special education services.  Parents may face hurdles to getting and evaluation completed or do not agree with a district's evaluation.  We can complete compliant evaluations that most districts accept.

Consultation

Helping parents and school districts

Working with both districts and parents on an individual or collaborative basis to come to a common ground.  Working with parents privately for guidance on how to work with their child who may be impacted by a disability.

Functional Behavioral Assessments

Assessing a child's behavior in a specific setting (ex. home, school, etc.)

Working with parents and schools to observe students, assess their behaviors, and the function of their behaviors.  After collecting data working with the team to create and implement a positive behavior plan that will decrease the frequency of negative behaviors and increasing the behaviors that will help the child be successful.
